We love Dr. Michaels at this practice. She was the first physician to notice my son's very faint heart murmur during our first visit when my son was just a couple months old. She is very warm and welcoming to her patients and parents. Whether we are coming in to have a sore throat looked at or an early physical, Dr. Michaels makes sure to address every question or concern thoroughly while being reassuring. She is willing to have an actual conversation to address issues instead of your typical clinical experience where they make you feel like an idiot for being concerned. Honestly, all the pediatricians at this practice know their field very well and all have great bedside manner. They make handling sick, fussy kids look easy. My kindergartner went in crying and scared when it was time for his vaccinations, but Dr. Gulson distracted him so well he didn't notice when it was done and over. If you want to be treated like every interaction is rushed because their main concern is squeezing as many patients as possible per hour to keep wait times down, sorry this practice isn't for you. If you want your child's doctor to know your family and pay close attention to your child's health, then you will be very happy with this practice. My sister-in-law recommended this practice. She always knows the best and we couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Peter Liber or his fantastic staff. I am comfortable taking the first available appointment regardless of who it is with because he has such a fantastic team. It was no surprise to us when they were listed on Chicago Magazine's Best list. Batavia is a satellite office and so it isn't bustling like Wheaton but that will change in time. IMO easy parking and a relaxed lobby/sick bay are both positives. As far as the Doctor asking questions it is a collaborative style of working with you as a parent to make sure you understand and to give them insight into how you parent (not a matter of confidence as another reviewer commented). I didn't always agree with recommendations but nothing that would make me look elsewhere. In time, I often came to the same conclusion and thus they were right all along. Wow. These reviews don't sound like the Lake Forest crew that we use. This office is part of PediaTrust, a group of different offices to treat off hour patients. Maybe that is the confusion, but this office is amazing. The staff care about the community, donate their time to community events, and best of all..they are an amazing group of diagnosticians. They pinpointed an illness in my 9-year-old that was misdiagnosed by another Lake Forest group. These doctors have all the credentials, and are an amazing and courteous group. My 3 young children see Dr. Laufter and have also seen the other physicians during sick days. We love our “Dr. Anna” and my children regularly talk about her. When my son was diagnosed with airway problems and asthma symptoms, they were ALL extremely attentive and supportive to not only my son but to me and my husband as well. We see them as family that takes such good care of our boys. I love that they are quick to respond to phone calls when you have that “late night” fever concern and give excellent advice.
